I had another doctor's appointment today. Everything still looks good with our little girl. It took the doctor a minute to find her heartbeat because she kept moving every time he got near her. It was quite amusing to feel her on one side, then feel her quick move to the other side. I guess she didn't want to be bothered! But he was able to get her heart rate, which was 137. I go back in a few weeks for the dreaded glucose test. Yea. Oh well, it could be worse. It wasn't that bad from what I remember. ;) We still haven't nailed down a name yet. This is a lot harder than it was with Luke!
Sunday was Jonathan's 29th birthday!! I can't believe how old we're getting. ;) Saturday we went out to eat, thanks to the gift card from his in-laws and Sunday we just hung out and relaxed. We had a rainy weekend, which was a bummer, but fortunately it cleared up enough for us to enjoy dinner outside Sunday evening.
We took advantage of the gorgeous weather on Saturday and took a trip to the zoo! Luke and daddy biked there while I hit some garage sales. Then we met up at the zoo, had a picnic lunch, and enjoyed the animals! It was a wonderful day! :)
They had a petting area with goats, cows, sheep, and chickens. Luke was very unsure of it at first. He clung to Jonathan for dear life!
Once Jonathan told Luke that the goat was a "puppy", Luke loved it! He wanted to pet all the "puppies". It was so funny! :) Luke chasing some birds.
There was a play area that had this cute little log cabin for kids to play in. Luke was a little intimidated at first with all the kids there, but this adorable little girl befriended him and led him around. She even got him to sit on this bench with her and pose for a picture! They were so cute together!!
Playing at the cabin.
Here are some other random pictures of our week. Jonathan, being the creative daddy that he is, made Luke his own car map that he can drive all his cars on. It's his new favorite toy!
Luke helping his daddy pick up golf balls out back. Jonathan's really working with Luke on that swing of his!
We had our first Easter weekend with just our little family. Jonathan's parents are away and all his siblings went to their in-laws, so we had a nice Easter dinner just the three (and a half!) of us. :) Friday night we went to the last Griffins hockey game. They lost, which was a drag, but we did get to see the Stanley cup, which was pretty cool. Saturday morning we went to the Wayland Community Easter egg hunt. It turned out to be kind of a downer because there were sooo many people there and each child could only get one egg! Luke loved it anyway and enjoyed his bag of goodies. Sunday I sang in the cantata at church, which was really fun and then we just had a nice dinner afterward. All in all it was a great Easter!
Luke with his one and only egg! He loved "finding" it though! :)
Guess we didn't really need the bag we brought to collect all his eggs!
Our family after Easter service.
This may be my favorite picture of Luke! He looks so handsome and grown up!!
Luke and daddy at the Griffins game.
Not the best picture, but you can kind of see the Stanley cup!
I just wanted to post a few pictures from our week. Jonathan and Luke looked so handsome at church last Sunday in their matching sport jackets! Luke had a rough morning, so he wasn't exactly thrilled about taking a picture, but oh well.
Luke was eating breakfast the other morning and insisted on eating with a fork. Not sure why he felt this was necessary, but I'm learning to choose my battles when I'm up against a toddler. So, if he wants to eat Cheerios and a banana with a fork, more power to him. :)
My parents came up last week for about four days to visit since it was dad's spring break. Luke loved having meemaw and papaw here! Here are some pictures and video from their visit, although my mom didn't manage to get in any!
Papaw built the tallest towers and Luke absolutely loved knocking them down! You can just see how bad he wants to knock this one over!
Luke figured out how to delay his bedtime--papaw! When mommy said it was time for bed, he just went over to papaw's lap and snuggled. He managed to get an extra half hour out of it!
I went to the doctor yesterday and our baby girl is doing great! Her heartbeat was 136, which is what Luke's was at this stage, too. She is moving so much now! I had forgotten what an amazing feeling it is!! :)
