Our precious little boy turned three years old on July 9! We cannot believe how fast these years have gone. Luke is such a joy and blessing to our lives. We had a wonderful time celebrating his birthday over the weekend. My family came up for a visit, which is always fun. Luke's birthday was on Friday and his party Saturday so we spread out the presents over the two days so he wasn't completely overwhelmed. This boy made quite the haul! His aunt and uncle (and grandparents!) spoil him soooo bad! :)

Meemaw made him chocolate muffins for his birthday breakfast.

While Papaw and daddy worked on the basement, us girls took the kids and went shopping. First, though, we had to stop at Red Robin for Luke and my birthday lunches! This is what they brought for Luke! And of course they sang Happy Birthday to him, too!

Addie really enjoyed the ice cream, too!

Meemaw has the touch! She walked around the mall pushing the kids and they were out in no time! :)

I'd tell you what the theme of Luke's birthday was this year, but I think you'll figure it out over the next few pictures. haha

My sister, the amazing cake master, was at it again and created this awesome cake that Luke absolutely loved! Great job Emily!!!!

"Happy Birthday, Luke!!"

Luke had some friends from church and the neighbor girl over for his party. It was so cute seeing him interacting with them. He loved having his friends over!

Trying out his new soccer goal from Uncle Jacob.

Testing out his new Thomas blanket from friends at church.

Putting his new truck to good use. Thanks McKenna!

Enjoying his new camping chair we got him.
At three years old, Luke amazes us. His vocabulary is out of this world and he says things that just crack us up! He picks up so much; he's like a sponge! He loves Addison and can by far make her laugh the hardest! He loves to get dirty in his sandbox and loves playing golf, baseball, basketball, hockey, and now soccer. He is very precise and likes things a certain way. He often will line up his cars or trains in order and he seems to be mechanical (which comes from Grandpa Athearn!). He still loves building train tracks, playing with cars, trucks, and he loves his Little People sets too. Candy Land and Chutes and Ladders are played almost every day and he is getting pretty good at Memory too! He is (for the most part) potty trained. He wears underwear except when we go out or at rest time when he wears a pull-up. He has only been dry once through the night but he's getting better. He has a very tender heart and makes us laugh every day! We love you so much Luke David! Happy Birthday!!!!
