Last weekend my sister and her boyfriend came up to visit. We went to the zoo Saturday and enjoyed a fun day looking at all the animals. Luke warmed up a little quicker this time, so that's good!
Checking out the lions.
I just thought this was a cool picture of Jonathan feeding the sting ray. He's the only one that was brave enough to do it!
Luke willingly pet the animals this time. Jonathan didn't even have to tell them they were "puppies"! :)
Grandma and Grandpa Athearn got Luke his birthday present a little early this year so he can actually enjoy it all summer instead of just half of it. Luke was SOOO excited to see his new bike, as you can tell! :)
"Please hurry Grandpa!!"
Ready to roll!
I realized that I did take a few pictures from when my family was here. Grandma and Grandpa Moore also got Luke an early birthday present to enjoy this summer--his own set of golf clubs! He hasn't figured out yet that you really only need one club at a time to golf. ;)
Getting some help with his swing from Uncle Jacob.
Wow, last week was crazy busy! Sorry for the lack in posting! Here are some pictures and videos of our past week or so. My parents and brother came up this past weekend and, once again, I didn't take any pictures! I did get one video, so that's better than nothing I guess. I had a wonderful Mother's Day, too. Very relaxing and enjoyable. :)
This is Luke's new favorite hiding spot! Anytime the pantry door is left open, he runs in there and shuts the door. He thinks it's hilarious! Obviously he isn't claustrophobic or afraid of the dark! :)
We headed over to Holland last week for the Tulip Festival. Luke loved watching the parade and had a great time with his cousins. He really loved the caramel corn Grandma bought! :)
The three youngest all hovered around grandma's bag of caramel corn!
Last week we were blessed with some beautiful weather and spent a lot of time outside. One of those days we enjoyed a picnic with all of Luke's cousins!
My little Dorito face. :)
This was before Luke nailed Julia in the head with the racket. No worries--she was alright!
Since Jonathan's parents have been out of town for a while, they missed Easter and we had to have a belated Easter egg hunt. Luke really is getting into it more--he likes finding those eggs! And he really likes the candy inside!! :)
Rushing out to find those eggs!
The best picture we could get of all nine grandkids!
Here's a video to give you an idea of the mass chaos! :)
I had another doctor's appointment today. Everything still looks good with our little girl. It took the doctor a minute to find her heartbeat because she kept moving every time he got near her. It was quite amusing to feel her on one side, then feel her quick move to the other side. I guess she didn't want to be bothered! But he was able to get her heart rate, which was 137. I go back in a few weeks for the dreaded glucose test. Yea. Oh well, it could be worse. It wasn't that bad from what I remember. ;) We still haven't nailed down a name yet. This is a lot harder than it was with Luke!
Sunday was Jonathan's 29th birthday!! I can't believe how old we're getting. ;) Saturday we went out to eat, thanks to the gift card from his in-laws and Sunday we just hung out and relaxed. We had a rainy weekend, which was a bummer, but fortunately it cleared up enough for us to enjoy dinner outside Sunday evening.
We took advantage of the gorgeous weather on Saturday and took a trip to the zoo! Luke and daddy biked there while I hit some garage sales. Then we met up at the zoo, had a picnic lunch, and enjoyed the animals! It was a wonderful day! :)
They had a petting area with goats, cows, sheep, and chickens. Luke was very unsure of it at first. He clung to Jonathan for dear life!
Once Jonathan told Luke that the goat was a "puppy", Luke loved it! He wanted to pet all the "puppies". It was so funny! :) Luke chasing some birds.
There was a play area that had this cute little log cabin for kids to play in. Luke was a little intimidated at first with all the kids there, but this adorable little girl befriended him and led him around. She even got him to sit on this bench with her and pose for a picture! They were so cute together!!
Playing at the cabin.
Here are some other random pictures of our week. Jonathan, being the creative daddy that he is, made Luke his own car map that he can drive all his cars on. It's his new favorite toy!
Luke helping his daddy pick up golf balls out back. Jonathan's really working with Luke on that swing of his!
