An Early Easter

Since we won't be able to go to Indiana for Easter this year, we headed there this past weekend and got to spend some time with the Moores.

Grandma made chocolate muffins for breakfast. Luke loved having "cake" for breakfast!

We had a party to watch the basketball games on Saturday. Luke had lots of fun eating and telling them to "shoot it!"

I love these pictures of Luke--he looks so big in that chair!

Drinking milk with one hand and tickling the ivories with the other. Now that's one talented little boy!!

Showing off his new Elmo Easter book.

Enjoying his Easter basket.

"What's in here anyway?"

Sharing his M&Ms with Auntie Em.

On the way home...I just thought it was a funny picture. :)

21 weeks along!!

Meemaw and Papaw

I just wanted to post a few pictures from our week. Jonathan and Luke looked so handsome at church last Sunday in their matching sport jackets! Luke had a rough morning, so he wasn't exactly thrilled about taking a picture, but oh well.
Luke was eating breakfast the other morning and insisted on eating with a fork. Not sure why he felt this was necessary, but I'm learning to choose my battles when I'm up against a toddler. So, if he wants to eat Cheerios and a banana with a fork, more power to him. :)

My parents came up last week for about four days to visit since it was dad's spring break. Luke loved having meemaw and papaw here! Here are some pictures and video from their visit, although my mom didn't manage to get in any!
Papaw built the tallest towers and Luke absolutely loved knocking them down! You can just see how bad he wants to knock this one over!
Luke figured out how to delay his bedtime--papaw! When mommy said it was time for bed, he just went over to papaw's lap and snuggled. He managed to get an extra half hour out of it!

I went to the doctor yesterday and our baby girl is doing great! Her heartbeat was 136, which is what Luke's was at this stage, too. She is moving so much now! I had forgotten what an amazing feeling it is!! :)

Luke and Julia

These two are quite the pair when they get together to play! Julia used to bully Luke quite a bit, considering she has two older brothers to deal with. :) Lately, though, Luke's started sticking up for himself and it's never dull when they are together!

Please Meet Luke's....

SISTER!!!!!! We had our ultrasound this evening and discovered that we are having a girl! I think Jonathan and I both were surprised--but very excited! :)

A Little Madness!

It's that time of year again--March Madness!! Luke is getting into it about as much as Jonathan and I are! I had the game on this afternoon and he decided to lay back, relax, and watch it with me (and Peyton, too, apparently!).
Luke loves his cars and trucks. They are his favorite toys right now. Every day, he lines them up on the window sill. And every night, he puts them to "bed" (or rather, with all the other toys for the night).
We went to the bank this week and they gave Luke a sucker. He finally was able to have it today for his snack since he ate all of his lunch! It was only his second sucker ever, but he knew what to do! :)

Here are just a couple videos of Luke enjoying a little b-ball and his sucker. I love hearing him say, "shoot it!". He definitely loves basketball, which his Uncle Jacob and Grandpa Moore will appreciate! :)

By the way, our neighbors have a huskey named Meko that plays with Peyton a lot. Luke saw he had a huskey of his own and immediately referred to it as Meko. I was pretty impressed!

Aunt Emily Comes to Visit!

My sister and her friend came up to visit us this past weekend. It was great to see her, as always, and Luke really enjoyed all the extra attention! :)

Emily thought it'd be fun to take a ride in Luke's cozy coupe.

Luke had his hair gelled, compliments of our friend Kristin. I think she was going for a John Travolta look?

Luke and daddy after church--so handsome!

More Pictures, Videos, and an Update!

Luke decided it looked like fun to play in the dirty clothes basket. I knew he was up to something when it grew suddenly quiet...

Finally a picture of Luke in daddy's shoes. I think they really complete the outfit, don't you? :)

So I know I've been posting a lot of videos lately, but Luke is just learning and doing so much, I can't help myself! :) I know it looks like he's just sitting on the counter by himself, but I had a hold of him, don't worry. ;)

Luke loved watching "Miss Pattycake" while up at Jonathan's parents' cabin. She's kind of like a Donutman/Psalty character. Anyway, she sang this wiggle song and Luke loved it! He sings it all the time now. Don't mind my singing...

As for the update, I'm currently 18 weeks along. I feel great and don't even feel pregnant, except for my ever-expanding belly! I went to the doctor today and everything looks good. The baby's heartbeat was in the 130s. We have the ultrasound in two weeks, so hopefully baby will cooperate and let us find out if it's a girl or a boy! We can't wait!!

Meet Luke's Friends

Luke has these three stuffed animals that he absolutely adores. Every bedtime and naptime, he has to round them up (because he's been dragging them all over the house with him) and throw them in bed with him. By the time I tuck in Luke, his three stuffed animals, and his blanket, there isn't room for much else! :)

Luke's all-time favorite food: applesauce! We cannot even put the jar on the table during dinner until after he has eaten everything else. Otherwise, he will refuse to eat anything and just point and yell, "Sauce!!".

Quick Getaway

On Saturday, we had a wedding in Goshen, Indiana which is just a couple hours south of us. My whole family was there, which was nice, and after the wedding we went to my parents' lake place to spend the night. Luke loved seeing Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Emmy, and Uncle Jacob!

"Mmmm! That's some good cake!"

Okay, so I know that Luke is wearing, like, the worst outfit ever to a wedding, but there is a valid explanation. I had the cutest outfit picked out and, well, forgot it at home in his closet. So then the outfit he was wearing in the car on the way down (which was slightly better than the one in this picture, mind you) he decided to pee through during the wedding, leaving this sad thing for the reception. My husband won't let me live it down. :)

Saying good-bye to Gramma and Grampa. You can't really see it that well, but Luke is holding the stuffed dog they got for him. He absolutely adores this thing and calls it, what else, Peyton!

I just love how Luke is looking at Grandpa in this picture!

What a Shot!

Finally I got some video of Luke's amazing bank shot. I'm not biased or anything, but I seriously am impressed!! :)

These Boots Were Made for Walking

Luke worked on these all morning. He wanted to walk in them so bad--I lost track of how much time he played with them!

By the afternoon, he was a pro! Hard work pays off I guess!

Luke's New Favorite Word

Our little toddler is learning all sorts of new things. One of those things is independence! He loves being able to answer "yep" or "no" when I ask him if he wants to color, read, etc. I think he enjoys feeling like he has some control and can make up his own mind! Lately, though, he likes to give just one answer--NO!

Name That Cousin!

With eight cousins to keep track of, Luke's been slowly on learning all their names! We have everyone's pictures on the fridge and he loves looking at them and naming everyone. Here's his progress so far. He's doing pretty good, and when he doesn't know a name, he just mumbles two syllables, which covers most of them. :) I think it confuses him that he has a cousin and an aunt Emily as well as a cousin and an uncle Jacob!

Updates

I had my second doctor's appointment today. I'm currently 14 weeks along and everything looks good. The baby's heartbeat was 144. I think Luke's was about that when he was 14 weeks, so Jonathan now believes it's another boy! ;) Here's my first belly shot. I definitely feel like I'm showing a lot sooner with this one than with Luke. Then again, I'm not sure how much of this bump is actually baby #2 and how much is leftover from baby #1. :)

In other news, Luke is 19 months old today! Time sure flies, that's for sure. He continues to learn new things all the time and is such a busy busy boy!! Here are some cute pictures and videos we took of him this past week.
Making an important call in the car.

Helping daddy build a tower.

I took this picture right after the Griffins scored a goal. You can just see the excitement oozing out of Luke, can't you? He really did enjoy himself, I promise! :)

Luke loves playing basketball and lately he's actually been shooting it, not just dunking it. He didn't really do it as much for the video, but you get the idea. I'll keep trying to get a good shot on camera.

On a much sadder note, my friend Ali and her husband, Jon, lost their twin baby boys yesterday. Ali was 21 weeks pregnant with the twins and everything seemed to be going well. Each boy lived for 19 minutes. Jon and Ali continue to remain firm in their faith. I can't imagine what they are going through. They already lost their first daughter, Emmalee, just ten short months ago. Please check out their blogs and keep them in your prayers right now. They're in our blog list to the right.

Road Trip

This past weekend Luke and I took a road trip down to Indiana to see my family. It was so great to spend time with them, as always! And, of course, Luke enjoyed getting all the attention. Boy, is his world about to change in a few months. ;) As usual, I didn't take nearly as many pictures as I wanted to, but here are some of the ones I did take.

While we were in Indiana, I really wanted to take Luke to a REAL high school basketball game. And what better place to learn about basketball than in the Hoosier state? Grandpa keeps the book for the team and Luke couldn't understand why Grandpa wasn't paying any attention to him!

"Whatcha doin' Grandpa? Can I help?"

"No mommy, I didn't eat that powdered donut!"

Luke is really into coloring now as you can see.
